Is this a real debit card?
No. Chortal is a chore and allowance tracker — we don't issue cards, link to your bank, or move real money. Earnings, savings, and spending inside the app are tracked numbers, not real-world transactions.
Are chores approved?
Yes. Kids submit when they think a chore is done; you approve from any device with one tap. Nothing pays out until you say so.
What age range is Chortal for?
Roughly ages 4–14, with the sweet spot around 6–12. Younger kids do best with a parent nearby; older kids can run their own profile end-to-end.
Is Chortal free?
Right now, yes. Chortal is in an early soft-launch and we're not charging while we learn from real families. If we ever introduce a paid plan, current accounts will hear from us first and won't lose access to what they've already set up.
What data do you collect?
The parent's email, the first names or nicknames you give your kids, and the chores and earnings you record. No advertising IDs, no cross-site tracking.
Does my kid get their own login or email?
No. Kids access their profile through a PIN you set — there's no separate kid login and no email tied to a child. The parent account owns the family.
Is there a chat or social feature?
No. Chortal has no chat, no friends list, and no public feed. Kids only see their own family's chores and activity.
Do I need to enter a credit card to sign up?
No. There's no payment step and no card on file. Sign up with an email and you're in.
